The Feast of the Immaculate Conception celebrated every December 8 is a celebration of Virgin Mary's humble obedience in accepting God's commission for her to conceive the Saviour Lord Jesus Christ.

In many Roman Catholic countries, this event is celebrated as a national holiday and with festivities. Here in the Philippines, Catholic schools take a day break to celebrate this Day of Obligation and remember the announcement of Angel Gabriel to Virgin Mary about the conception of Christ.

For many barangays as well, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception means household celebrations and "barangay fiesta" activities. If you happen to visit a certain barangay celebrating the fiesta, you will see lots of foods, videoke, parties and family moments. In the case of Matina Gravahan 74-A, the Matina Gravahan Womens and Small Entrepreneur celebrated the fiesta through a dance contest. They were divided into groups and were assigned with a specific dance genre. Group 1 performed Jazz, Group 3 modern retro, Group 4 Folk dance, Group 5 Zumba while the only group that is different among the rest, Group 2 sang a Christmas song.

Team Acosta was asked to judge the performances of the groups and ended up choosing Group 1 as the champion of the night's event. 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers received 2,000, 1,500, 1000 and 300 for consolation respectively.

The event was very successful and everyone enjoyed the night full of music. Congratulations to the Matina Gravahan Women's officers and organizers for pulling off a great event. Happy Fiesta! :D
