The Office of Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta will be joining this year's International Women's Month Celebration Walk Parade set on March 7, 2008. The staff's participation is a way of expressing support in empowering women and getting them to involve themselves on issues regarding peace, development and good governance towards the promotion of national transformation.
This year's International Women's Month Celebration will be spearheaded by the Office of the City Mayor's Integrated Gender and Development division headed by Ms. Lorna B. Mandin, and the Womyn Network group through its Executive Director Sister Josephine Bacaltos.
Mabel Sunga Acosta is a City Councilor of the First District of Davao City from 2001-2010 and 2013-present, and a Career Executive Service Eligible. She heads the City Council’s Committees on Peace & Public Safety and Publication. She empowers the youth, women, environmental advocates, peace and security forces, and the community through effective legislation and community services.
