REGIONAL CONSULTATION on LGU FRAMEWORK on POVERTY REDUCTION, HUNGER MITIGATION AND POPULATION MANAGAMENT FOR REGIONS 9, 10, 11, 12, CARAGA AND ARMM

The Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) in partnership and with the support of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), the Department of Health-National Nutrition Council (DOH-NNC), the Philippine Center for Population and Development (PCPD) and the South East Asia Regional Council for Agriculture (SEARCA), conducting a Regional Consultation on LGU Framework on Poverty Reduction, Hunger Mitigation and Population Management for Regions 9,10,11,12, CARAGA and ARMM on June 19-20, 2008 at the Apo View Hotel, 150 J. Camus, Davao City. Participants of this consultation are the provincial/city planning and development officers, ULAP officers of member-leagues, selected LGU executives/legislators, point-persons on population and nutrition, the academe, religious leaders, business.

This Regional Consultation aims to highlight and stir LGU participation and initiatives to support the government programs on poverty reduction, hunger mitigation and population management towards the attainment of the President's targets and her excellency's goals during her administration in line with GOP targets on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).

In this activity, Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta as the acting mayor of Davao City delivered her welcome address to the participants of this Regional Consultation.
