According to friends, it would only take you about an hour to get a business permit in Hong Kong. I have a hard time believing this because here in Davao City, it always take around three months to be issued a renewal business permit. However, I just learned lately from another friend that it takes only a day to get a business permit in Malaybalay, Bukidnon. Could there be something wrong in our Davao City Business Bureau? Can anything be done to improve the business friendliness of Davao City. I can remember a negative observation of a foreign entity about the difficulty in doing business in Davao City, which was promptly branded as inaccurate and unfair by our local officials. But sad to say, we have this "slight" shortcoming with regards business permit processing time. Reducing the processing time of business permits could go a long way in improving further not only the business climate in Davao City but also its image.

hi jbyap! from what i heard from the business bureau, it only takes a day of two (depends on what time you file it) in davao city. maybe other entities that experience delay have either incomplete requirements or suffer discrepancies. please give me specific details of any complaints you now. you can email me at mabelacosta.citycouncil@gmail.com then we will know where the problem lies and what the solution or proper course of action is. davao city has been evaluated and ranked by the ASIAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT as the top city in the MoSt Competitive Cities of the Philippines. so please give specific details so we could verify the veracity of the complaints and take it from there. thank you for taking time out to post your comment. best regards, mabel
