The youth of Davao City was presented with an evening of rock and rhythm when the Rock the Vote Concert Caravan series opened up last September 17, 2009 at the Rizal Park.
Jumpstarting the event were the bands Evee and Tema-X, while Luke Mijares (formerly of Southborder band), mesmerized the massive crowd with his latest singles and his renditions of some R&B hits. Even as a slight drizzle momentarily interrupted the event, the crowd was not dismayed as rock bands Hale and 6 cycle mind stormed the stage with their hit songs.
Davao City Councilor and Kaya Natin Movement-Champion for Good Governance, Hon. Mabel Sunga Acosta, Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte and Senator Kiko Pangilinan took center stage, motivating and urging the youth, especially the eligible first time voters to register and vote on the upcoming 2010 elections.
Also present on the said occassion were former Bukidnon Representative and Kaya Natin Movement-Co Champion for Good Governance, Neric Acosta and Representative Rissa Hontiveros.
