Sta. Ana NHS Student Bags 2010 Campus Journalist of the Year Award


A 4th year Student of Sta. Ana National High school is this year's Campus Journalist of the Year Award winner. Mr.Adrianne John Luncido, bested 12 other contenders from 7 different public schjools from the three districts of Davao City.
Adrianne, will receive a Mabel Sunga Acosta Medalion of Excellence for Journalism, a certificate of recognition, and a cash prize of two thousand five hundred pesos courtesy of Don Ceasario Villa Abrille Foundation and Mrs. Josefina Manaois of Davao Emcor.
Lawrence entered the competition purely to check the progress of his skills as a journalist: “I entered on the off chance. I really didn’t expect to win. I entered the competition that it might be worthwhile for me of doing, and I won.”
Other winners of the completion are who will also be receiving medals and cash prizes are: 1st Runner-up: Julie E. Leyva of (Talomo NHS); 2nd Runner-up: Lyster Bonhoc (Bernardo Carpio NHS); 3rd Runner-up: Karl Segovia (Davao City Special NHS)
CJTY is an annual search initiated by the office of Mabel Sunga Acosta in 2002. It was created to discover young talents in the field of campus journalism. It is open to 3rd and 4th year students enrolled in any public secondary school in Davao City which has an active school paper. This year's judges is made up of top media professionals Amalia Cabusao, Editor in Chief of Mindanao Times, Andy Rara, DXAB Station Manager; Alex Roldan, Broadcaster and City Information Office of Davao Chief.

Wow, it's really a great privilege for me being chosen as the 2nd runner up of the CJTY, in behalf of our school, we salute you Maam, and I'm very thankful for that prize especially the medallion,( napakalaki poh).. More powers!

whew! ahahahaha i am very very proud and greatful that i am the CJTY of this year,2010. It is my honor and pride being choosen as the best among the contenders from different schools. I am very thankful for that competition, because they enhance more and more the youth of davao for their social awareness and accountabilities . In behalf of my trainor Mam Susan Bacolod and my alma matter , Sta. Ana National High School
