Movie Night: Team Acosta Attends Screening of Documentary

Last night, May 19, Global Impact, IACAT, PNP XI, Lighthouse Church, and other partners had a screening of the award-winning documentary Nefarious: Merchant of Souls (2011) at Victoria Plaza Mall Cinema 6 (Lighthouse Church).

The film is full of interviews with different people involved in human trafficking, victims of it, and those who are fighting against it. They lift the veil off this commonly ignored yet highly at large issue. The interviewees come from all parts of the world including Thailand, Moldova, the Netherlands, USA, and other countries.

Two members of Team Acosta attended the screening last night and were blown away by it. Some tears were even shed. Hearing the accounts of rescued victims, former prostitutes, a former "John" or customer, a former trafficker, psychologists, and other people involved in preventing human trafficking was both an eye-opening and haunting experience. It was a truly powerful film.

The film is a must-watch and human trafficking is an urgent issue. Log on to nefariousdocumentary.com/take-action to find out how you can help in the fight against human trafficking.
