Blessing and Turnover Ceremony of Multi-Purpose Building
of New Matina Elementary School
The City of
Government of Davao through the Office of Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta
officially turnover the newly constructed multi-purpose building at New
Matina Elementary School, New Matina Gravahan, Barangay 74-A, Matina Crossing,
Davao City on March 4, 2015.

This newly
constructed multi-purpose building is lovingly dedicated to the late "Soledad Roa Duterte" also
known as “Nanay Soling”, whose purpose as an educator, civic leader,
social activist, and women and children's welfare advocate, has served the
country and the community well. This project was granted through an allotment
for an infrastructure project for the City Government of Davao when Councilor
Mabel Sunga Acosta of the First District of Davao City, was chosen as one of
the 2009 Ten Outstanding Councilors of the Philippines (TOCP), which was
awarded in 2010. The TOCP is an Annual Search jointly sponsored by the
Philippine Councilors League, Office of Senator Angara, and the JCI
Philippines.

The celebration was
attended by Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta, Ms. Eleonor R. Duterte representing
the Duterte family, Mr. Jose Anson D. Macaday, the school head of New Matina
Elementary School, Dr. Nelson C. Lopez, the Assistant Schools Division
Superintendent of DepEd Division of Davao City, Barangay Kagawad Joy Encabo of
Barangay Matina Crossing, purok leaders, New Matina Elementary school teachers,
PTA Officers, and students. The celebration was officiated by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel
M. Gonzaga, parish priest of St. Francis of Assisi of Maa.
