It was once known as Regional Hospital then Davao Medical Center (DMC) and now Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC). SPMC is a government hospital that implements different business
strategies like Private Public Partnerships and drug consignments with
pharmaceutical companies. They also implement strategies that augments
their income in addition to the government subsidy using social
insurance reimbursements.

Here are some things you can consider about SPMC. And oh! This is not your ordinary public hospital :)
1. Bagong-bago. They have a new building open for public service last October 2014. The hospital can be located at J.P Laurel Ave., Bajada, Davao City.
2. Emergency Room at its BEST! You will think you are in the lobby of the airport waiting for your flight as you sit on the benches of the ER. The ambiance, the cold breeze of the fully air conditioned room and the design will make you feel you're not in a hospital.

be launched. This is first in the whole country and is an initiative of SPMC management led by Dr. Vega.
