Agri-Pinoy Trading Center: Ground Breaking Ceremony

The Agricultural Industry holds a big portion of Philippine economy. This is very true for majority of the cities in the southern Philippines. Thus, it is necessary for the government to support and develop this industry for the benefit of the people. 

The local government of Davao City has been very supportive and is making a lot of efforts to expand the agricultural industry. That is why, Agri-Pinoy, National Development Company, Department of Agriculture duly attended by Dir. Remelyn Recoter CESO IV, RD-DA and the City Government of Davao with Atty. Melchor Quitain, representative of Mayor Duterte, and City Council Chairman on Agriculture, Coun. Marissa Salvador-Abella led the ground breaking ceremony of the Agri-Pinoy Trade on September 30, 2015.

This dream come true project was finally materialized under the leadership of City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in partnership with National Development Company, site provider, and the Department of Agriculture, fund provider.

The project has a total floor area of 3,715 sq. m. inclusive of Trading Area, Unloading and loading bay, Electronic Weighing Pad, Processing and Storage Area, Seminar/Training Hall, Dormitory with lockers, Atrium that will serve as waiting area for traders & buyers, toilet, bathroom, Rentable spaces for support establishments, Fast Food Counters, Administrative Office, Clinic. This project aims to provide a food terminal that will facilitate the fast and efficient movement of goods, particularly fresh produce, citywide and in the whole region. 

Not only that the project offers market friendly goods and prices, it also has environment friendly features that will work hand in hand with Mother Nature. The project has natural lighting and passive cooling, Rain water Collection Tanks, Grey Water Recycling Plant and Material Recovery Facility.

Now that the project is really on the go, the construction is planned to commence in the coming months with the full operation management of the APTC.
