With the 2016 National Election getting closer, people are now on the buzz on whose candidates are going to make their list. The presidential bets are on the limelight for the past few days wherein Davao City Mayor topping the trending list.

After the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy, it has been clear who will run for the highest positions in the government of the Philippines- except for the on going mind boggling decision of Mayor Duterte if he will run as president or not.

But vying for the second highest position are also quite a number of politicians. And among the thorns is the only flower coming from Naga City, Cong. Leni Robredo.

Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo, widely known as Cong. Leni is the incumbent 3rd District Representative of Naga, Camarines Sur. She is the widow of a genuine and good governance driven public servant, the late DILG Secretary and Mayor of Naga City, Sec. Jesse Robredo. A mother of three pretty ladies, Aika, Tricia and Jillian, Cong. Leni is a full time mom and public servant. Her daily adventures and civic duties are followed by the netizens in her active facebook account. You'll think she's Wonderwoman if you follow her daily schedules but she never fails to spend time with her girls.

Before entering into politics, Cong. Leni has been serving as a lawyer under  Naga chapter of Sentro ng Alternatibong Lingap Pang Legal (Saligan), a national alternative lawyers’ group helping farmers. (Rappler.com)

She also worked with the Public Attorney's Office. 

After the death of Sec. Jesse, her public consciousness bolstered which led her to a victory over Nelly Favis-Villafuerte for a seat in the congress. 

Robredo is considered a champion of the Freedom of Information Act, has been a strong supporter of the Bangsamoro Basic Law, and was one of the primary authors of the Tax Incentives Transparency bill.

She is known for her simple lifestyle and down to earth service of which she directly and constantly interacts with her constituents. Also, she has been considered as one of the poorest House Members based on her SALN.

Now, as the country enter another chapter of political history, Cong. Leni is raising the bar as she aspire for the second highest position of the Philippines. Do you think she is worth it? Think about it 'cause the country's future depends on your precious vote.
