Team Acosta conducts a First Aid Training and it's the first in the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Last December 14-15 and 17, 2016, Team Acosta geared up in training suits for the basic training of First Aid with 911.
The team learned about Basic Life Support, bandaging, splinting and the different kinds of wounds and fractures.

The two and a half days of training started with a whole day of lectures educating everyone with the terms and baseline knowledge of BLS. The excitement and anticipation of the staff are very obvious as everyone actively participated during the lectures raising questions and clarifications. The 911 trainers also gave an overview of the Emergency Response Team of Davao.

On the second day of the training, Team Acosta learned the actual first aid. The team did a hands on bandaging by partner and applied the different kinds of bandaging depending on the case of the patient. By pair, Team Acosta executed the proper procedure of bandaging and assessing cases of victims. Team Acosta also performed the different kinds of rescue and splinting. Laughter filled the room as Luisito Jain played as the victim and everyone is trying to help him according to the things they learn.

After all the lectures and hands-on activities, the day of ultimate judgement has finally arrived. Just before the Christmas party celebration of the office, Team Acosta was first gathered for the practical exam of the BLS training.

Materials were in place and the scene is already set. While everyone seemed so relax and chill in the cold weather in Malagos Garden, no one noticed that the drill has already started.

A wounded patient approached the rescuers and then everyone started to act disoriented. No one knew what to do. But when the team leader, Ryan Villodres, started to gather the team and instructed everyone, members were able to rescue and executed the procedures almost correctly.

Overall, the 911 Training Team assessed a satisfactory rate in the performance of Team Acosta. In the 24 offices of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Davao City, Team Acosta is the first to have this kind of training for the staff.

Looking forward that other offices will have this training too.
