Bgy 7-A Lecture on Parliamentary Proceedings

Last November 19, 2007, members of the Office of Councilor Acosta visited Barangay 7-A to lecture on the Parliamentary Procedure, particularly in the barangay level. Jeff Coronel, Jez Babatid and Mayette Puentespina, of the legal staff, together with Ariel Capidos and Kiwi Bulaclac, of the community affairs staff, each took the floor.

The lecture was conducted in the barangay's session hall. Present in the lecture were the honorable members of the Sangguniang Barangay headed by Bgy. Capt. Joseph H. Orilla. Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson Ivy Mae A. Moring and the Sangguniang Kabataan members were also present. The honorable members of the Sangguniang Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan who were present were: Alexander Alagon, Bebot Jacinto, Alexander Manaopanao, Manuel S. Ortega, John Patrick Agudera, Mary Rose Duropan, Kyle B. Longyapon, Emel Rose Ligan, Trifona S. Ente, Sheryl C. Briones and Johnber E. Catolico.

The staff talked about an overview of the barangay, the powers and duties of the barangay officials, the barangay justice system and the Sangguniang Barangay. The participants were also taught how to make program designs.

With a very eager and participative audience, the day ended up to be a very informative and productive one, not only for the participants but for the staff as well.
