The following are the results of the 7-a-side one-day football festival held last Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Tionko Football Field in Bolton Riverside, Q. Boulevard, Davao City:
ELEMENTARY DIVISION:
Champion: SOS Children’s Village
1st Runner up: Ateneo Grade School-Blue Team
2nd Runner up: Holy Child School of Davao
HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION:
Champion: Ateneo High School
1st Runner up: Philippine Women’s College
2nd Runner up: Holy Child School of Davao-Team A
The other participating teams are: Zonta ES, Dona Pilar Learning Center Foundation, Inc., Catalunan Grande ES and Ateneo Grade School-White Team (icn the Elementary Division) and Holy Child School of Davao-Team A (in the High School Division).
The 11-a-side event for the Women’s Open category of this year's Acosta Cup will commence on November 22 and will be played every weekend thereafter until the middle of December 2008. Two (2) games will be held every Saturday and Sunday afternoon, which will be participated in by women who are college students, working or otherwise out-of-school.
The Office of Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta extends special thanks to the City Mayor's Office, City Sports and Development Office, Jollibee JTC-Davao and Davao Football Association, without whose support and generosity, Acosta Cup would not be realized.

I'm very glad that Councilor Acosta also helping out to the sports program of Davao esp football. I'm a football plyer/coach based in Manila right now but I'm from Davao. Everytime there's International Tournament for Boys, Girls, Men and Women I'm very happy to see a representative from Davao. With this kind of Festivals and Tournaments, it helps a lot to the young ones and make their parents proud! Thanks! Good Job!
