Youth Empowerment Training: Making Choices, Building Voices 2nd Batch

On January 28, 2015 the second Youth Empowerment Training held by the office of Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta went underway in the Councilor's Lounge of the Sangguniang Panlungsod from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. The workshop entitled, "Making Choices, Building Voices" sought to empower the 33 youth leaders ages 16 to 24 who represented their various barangays.

Below, Neil M. Lastimosa the first speaker shares the trials and tribulations the Filipino Youth are experiencing today. 

The participants had an ice breaker after the first presentation.

Kagawad Jeremiah Caballero was the next speaker. He shared some insights on how to plan an event. Some of his advice were plan months ahead, budget, promote your event and so on.

Councilor Mabel Acosta talked about being a wholesome leader, using politically correct terms in describing Mindanao and shared her story about the Kaya Natin Movement and meeting Jesse Robredo for the first time.

Councilor Acosta hands out their certificates and in a light-hearted moment thanks the participants for coming despite the harsh weather outside.
