Exactly 14 days after an improvised bomb rocked the Roxas Night Market in Davao City, the Office of Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta visited the victims.

While it is still a shock to everyone, thinking that Davao City is a relatively safe city, daytime and nigh time, survivors and their families are still positive in their life's second chances. It was just an ordinary and fun Friday night to every Dabawenyo as they enjoy the lively street of Roxas. For the people who sought for relaxation and a bit of rest, the massage area of the night market is a haven. This is also a hub for the therapists since many people come for a quality yet cheap service.

But amidst the shock and fear the bombing caused, Dabawenyos still chose to rise and be strong. The quick response team of 911 and the police, together with the compassionate people around, many victims were rushed to the nearest hospital. Although there were deaths but the brighter on side many were saved.

On September 16, 2016, Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta herself went to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) to personally visit and chat with the survivors and their family members.
The team shared snacks to the watchers and had a small chitchat with them. Despite their situation, the survivors are still very optimistic. They are thankful for the help of various groups and agencies that extended financial assistance as well as to those who express their moral and emotional support to them.

Some of the survivors are still under operation and some are near their full recovery. They are just waiting for a few more days before they are fully discharged from the hospital.
The victims wishes are just simple. To bring back the normal life they use to have and spend it with their love ones. Also, that their bodies be healed so that they could continue to do the things they love.

The September 2 bombing is already a mark for the Dabawenyos. But this mark symbolizes unity, that beyond the shaking, people are still one and undivided. It symbolizes strength, that even if the eagle's nest was attacked, the city and it's people stood firm in seeking for peace and spreading love not hate. Lastly, it symbolizes hope. Hope for the victims and their families. This is a reminder that our lives are not fully out own. We have to surrender it to God and only He has the last say about it. Even if major circumstances hit our lives, the hope that we have from God and all His promises, coupled with the love of those who stick to us through thick and thin, will definitely pull us through.

We urge everyone to please continue to pray for the survivors and their families. They need our prayers and moral support in this challenging chapter of their lives.
Tindog Dabaw for Life is definitely HERE :D
