Consulate General of Malaysia - Eid Mubarak Open House
Eid al-Fitr, a festival after Ramadan and Eid-al-Adha, is usually celebrated by a traditional Muslim greeting known as "Eid Mubarak" or "Blessed Eid". In the Islam tradition, "Eid" means celebration and "Mubarak" means blessed, which is literally translated to wishing friends a blessed holiday.
Councilor Mabel Sunga - Acosta was given an opportunity to attend an Eid Mubarak Open House by the invitation of the Consulate General of Malaysia, Consul Mohd Jafri Mohd Sharif, at Ladislawa Garden Village, Buhangin, Davao City last July 8, 2017.

The Malaysian culture is truly shared to their invited guests by serving them with mouth-watering Malaysian cuisines and delicacies like the Randang ( spicy beef dish cooked for 4 to 6 hours with coconut meat) which was prepared by the Consul General himself, Lamang ( Filipino counterpart of "Suman na Malagkit" traditionally cooked in a bamboo stem for hours), Chicken Kurma ( resembled chicken curry a lot but is a milder version), Sati ( a peanut sauce cuisine bathed with spicy but sweet taste), Tomato rice and other Malaysian food we're sure their beloved guests can't just help but loving them.

Several Malaysian Consulate personalities welcomed us warmly and made sure that everyone felt as if they're at home. Truly, we shared Filipino traits with our Malaysian brothers and sisters though we may descend from different races and culture. Since Malaysia, like the Philippines, is a also a melting pot of Chinese, Indian and Malay cultures, we can always see each other as part of a bigger family.
