The
14th Acosta Cup Begins
The Acosta Cup is an annual open tournament for women footballers initiated by Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta, primarily aimed at promoting and developing the sport of football among female players and soccer enthusiasts in the City.
This year’s Acosta Cup will run from October 21 to December 17, 2017, every Saturday and Sunday at Tionko Football Grounds, Quimpo Blvd., Davao City, with the participating teams: D’ Davao Survivors (D’DS), Sikat Alab, SOYA, Philippine College of Technology (PCT), and the University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao.

This 14th edition of tournament is organized, with the cooperation, and in coordination with the Davao Football Association (DFA) and the immense support of the Office of the City Mayor, Ulticon Builders, Inc., Norminring Motorbikes, St. John Paul II College of Davao, Anflocor, Lapanday Foods, Vibrant Helicopters Agricultural Corporation, SBF Philippines Drilling Resources Corporation, Southern Tourist Inn, Yellow Fin, Kudos Trucking Corporation, Nature’s Spring, Jollibee, RDL Pharmaceutical Labs., Inc., and Marina Tuna.
A Ceremonial Kick-off will be held on October 22, Sunday at 3:00 PM following the match between PCT and Sikat Alab, and before the commencement of the UP Mindanao vs D’DS game.
