National Heroes Day
August 25, 2014 at Unknown Soldiers Monument,
 Osmeña Park,  San Pedro Street, Davao City








     Last Monday, August 25, 2014 is not just any other regular holiday, It is the commemoration of the "National Heroes Day", which is done in order to give honor to the other heroes who are not remembered with their own legal holidays as Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio is remembered.  The activities took place at the Unknown Soldiers Monument, Osmeña Park, San Pedro Street, Davao City at 7:00 in the morning. It was participated by many agencies, such as Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine National Police - Region XI, Parish Priest fro St. Francis of Assisi Parish, the World War II Heritage Organization, the Naval Forces of Eastern Mindanao, Davao City Teachers and other representatives from the Department of Education, City Mayors Office, representatives from the City Council, and many others.

     Verily, the unknown heroes should not be forgotten and their unsung contributions to the country should be recognized. The celebration of the "National Heroes Day" is an avenue for Filipinos to become enlightened on the richness of their heritage and thus encourage them to become better citizens to live noble lives.
