Mindanao Convention of Regional Youth Advisory Councils

Last March 18, 2015 Coun. Mabel Sunga Acosta was invited by the National Youth Commission to express her words of welcome to the Mindanao Convention of Regional Youth Advisory Councils held at Grand Regal Hotel , Davao City.

The said convention was attended by Commissioner Earl P. Saavedra - National Youth Commission-Office of the Commission Representing Mindanao , Gibby Gorres-Chief of Staff of the Office of the Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of OCCEO -National Youth Commission, Coun. Mabel Sunga Acosta representing the City Government of Davao, government regional agencies and youth organizations all over Mindanao.

The Regional Youth Advisory Councils are composed of representatives from government agencies that carry out relevant programs, projects, activities and services that directly benefit the members of the youth sector. The said inter-agency structure also serves as an advisory body to the Commission similar with existence of the National Youth Advisory Council. Furthermore, RYACs act as NYC's arms in the regional level given the need to pursue relevant policies and interventions through localization and needs-based approaches.(www.nyc.gov.ph)

The said convention served as the converged first quarter meeting of the RYACs of the island of Mindanao.
