Applications to the 7th Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. Triennial Awards is now Open!

The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc.  (RAFI) Triennial Awards is an award program in the Visayas and Mindanao that gives recognition to individuals and institutions who make significant contributions to social development particularly in areas where help is most needed.

The RAFI Triennial Awards is awarded every three years in two categories namely: the Ramon Aboitiz Award for Exemplary Individual Category and the Eduardo Aboitiz Award for Outstanding Institution Category to individuals and institutions who have done philanthropic, humanitarian, and holistic efforts in enhancing the quality of life of groups and communities.

The 7th RAFI Triennial Awards is now accepting application an is only until December 31, 2016. Interested applicants can visit their website and download Application forms and Guidelines for eligibility and other requirements at: http://rafi.org.ph/triennialawards/425/nomination-form/.

In this light the Memorandum Circular No. 2016-85 dated June 21, 2016 was issued by Mel Senen S. Sarmiento, Secretary, DILG inviting provincial governors, city mayors, municipal mayors, ARMM Regional governors, DILG Regional Directors of Region VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, NIR and all others concerned.

Kaya Natin! Youth Mangroove Planting Activity

It was a beautiful day to be under the sun! The weather was fine and everyone was so excited to get started.

February 27, 2016, the Kaya Natin Youth Batch 1, together with some other young people from the various barangays of Davao City, gathered as one force to plant Mangroove trees in the Cleanergy- Aboitiz Eco Park, Punta Dumalag. There were around 36 young people who planted trees and were assisted by Aboitiz representative Ms. Sherlyn Puno as tour guide.

Everyone was so enthusiastic to start planting however, briefing and proper information should be understood by the participants thus, Ms. Sherlyn gave a short talk and your of the facilities and the proper protocols of the activity.

By the time the planting is about to start, the youth were so energetic and can't wait to plant their tree in contribution to the greening of Mother Nature. 
All in all, the youth were able to plant 280 Pagatpat Seedlings scattered in the area of the Aboitiz Eco Park.

The Kaya Natin Youth was gathered and assisted by the office of Councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta and was personally joined by Ms. Luna Acosta.

Overall, the half day tree planting event was a success. Hope to plant more trees in the future for a cleaner and greener Davao City.
